Northaw CoE School
Northaw School is located in a pleasant village of Hertfordshire; the school looks over beautiful woodlands.
We are a small Church of England school with close links to the church and local community. Children attending the school are from the village and surrounding area. As a church school the children’s morals are based on the Christian faith with a respect and understanding of other religions. The children have daily assemblies, with one of these being in the church once a week. In addition we have church services for Easter, Harvest Festival, Christmas and the end of the year. The vicar leads a communion service in school each term. These are well attended by parents and families.
Currently on role are 113 pupils from nursery through to Year 6. We have 4 classes with 2 year groups in each class. Our planning is carefully managed to take this into account. We strive to find the most efficient teaching methods to gain the maximum learning outcomes. Cross-curricular links are developed to optimise opportunities to reinforce and enrich learning. A wide range of intervention programmes are deployed to support the educational experience to ensure every child leaves us having reached their potential.
