Register your NQTs with our alliance
We offer two levels of registration for Primary NQTs.
Option 1 – Appropriate Body service only.
For the Appropriate Body service the registration charge for each NQT is £299 per NQT for the first 2x NQTs from the same school, then £195 for 3rd and subsequent registered NQTs.
The induction event on Tuesday 12 September 2017 will be included for both NQTs and Mentors.
Option 2 – Appropriate Body service PLUS training package for the registered NQT.
In addition to the registration we will also offer a training package. If you wish to combine both the registration and training for your NQT the costs will be £495 per NQT for the first 2 NQTs and then £395 for 3rd and subsequent registered NQTs.
The training package will include :-
- Registration fee and Induction date
- 2x NQT ‘Spotlight’ courses of choice
- 1x course from main website
- 1x morning lesson observation
- 1 year’s membership for the Chartered College of Teaching
- NQT moving on session in June 2018

Lesson Observation mornings
These sessions will provide an opportunity to be inspired by observing outstanding practice at The Wroxham School. There will be an opportunity to discuss the teaching observed and reflect on how it may impact on practitioners own classroom practice. We will try, wherever possible, to place NQTs in comparative year groups to maximise learning opportunity. There are limited spaces available for these sessions so please book promptly to avoid disappointment. The dates for these sessions are:

Monday 5 February 2018 – (8.15am to 12pm)

‘Spotlight’ sessions for NQTs
These will consist of an hour of subject specific training followed by the opportunity to share experiences in a supportive environment. In 2017/2018, we will be offering the following Spotlight sessions:
Spotlight on Maths
Thursday 28 September 2017 (4pm to 5.30pm)
Sally Barker, Maths Mastery Specialist and Year 6 teacher at Wroxham, will share the principles of Mastery teaching for both KS1 and KS2. There will also be an opportunity to explore resources developed for this model of teaching.
Wednesday 18 October 2017 – (4pm to 5.30pm)
Jo Turner will lead a session on the teaching of phonics across EYFS and KS1. She will share a progressive model across the age range and also discuss how to successfully implement planning for the Phonics Screening test.
Spotlight on Science
Wednesday 22 November 2017 (4pm to 5.30pm)
This session will be led by Jenny Bramley, Science co-ordinator at Wroxham. There will be an opportunity to look at how to embed the ‘working scientifically’ aspect of the national curriculum into science lessons and how to plan a series of lessons to increase children’s confidence in science.
Wednesday 22 November 2017 – (4pm to 5.30pm)
The KS2 Grammar session will be led by one of the team from Wroxham and will discuss how to plan grammar teaching into planning, as well as how to structure discrete sessions to teach specific aspects of the curriculum for KS2.
Spotlight on Assessment
Wednesday 29 November 2017- (4pm to 5.30pm)
This session will be led by Nicky Easey, Deputy Headteacher and Assessment lead at Wroxham. There will be an opportunity to look at different assessment strategies and how they support the learning process. Formative and summative methods will be shared and a there will be discussion about both processes support parent consultations and report writing.
Spotlight on EYFS
Wednesday 17 January 2018 – (4pm to 5.30pm)
Jo Turner will run this session which will share how we align the Early Years Foundation Stage with the principles of Learning without Limits at Wroxham. The session will be run in the EYFS unit at Wroxham and there will be a chance to explore the setting including the outdoor environment.
Spotlight on Working with Parents
Wednesday 31 January 2018 – 4pm to 5.30pm
Establishing excellent relationships with families and parents is very important. However, as a newly qualified teacher the prospect of liaising with parents and other adults in the school can seem very daunting. Jo Turner will help delegates to ensure that they are fully prepared to work with parents and adults in a positive way that will enhance every child’s learning.
Spotlight on SEN
Tuesday 20 February 2018 – (4pm to 5.30pm)
This twilight, led by a very experienced SENCo, Cheryl Mence, will help you understand the main SEND categories and their levels of need and also how to communicate with parents and outside agencies to support children. It will also include information on assessment and target setting and where to go if you have concerns.
Spotlight on the Classroom environment
Thursday 21 March 2018 – (4pm to 5.30pm )
This session will support newly qualified colleagues in creating an effective classroom environment in a manageable way. It will include some time to view classrooms and gain ideas, which could be applied in their own settings.
NQT Moving Forward and end of year celebration
Wednesday 20 June 2018 – (4pm to 5.30pm)
This is an opportunity for NQTs to plan next steps in their career in terms of subject leadership and career progression. It will also be a celebration of achievements in the last 12 months.
